2009-10 ICPA Contest
It’s time to select entries for the 2010 contest. Please print out the appropriate forms, fill them out completely and mail with your entries to the appropriate vice president. Please return entries via first- class mail, UPS or FedEx. Do not send entries “book rate.” Each entry requires a separate entry form. The postmark deadline is Monday, Feb. 8, 2010.
The address to which entries should be mailed varies according to type of publication and can be found in the lower left corner of the entry form. Also, please be aware that in the newspaper categories, Division I and III entries are mailed to a different address than Division II. And Division II now starts at 3,000 full-time students (up from 2,000). Please make sure you have marked the correct divisions and are mailing your entries to the right address. New this year: A breaking news story posted to a newspaper web site may be entered in the newspaper breaking news category even if it never appeared in the print edition. Also, please include pronunciations if you think they will be helpful when reading the winners’ names at the convention.
Follow the instructions carefully. Also please note that stories and photos may not be entered in more than one individual category (for example, don’t enter the same story in “best news story” and “best feature story.”) It’s acceptable if a story, photo or page entered in an individual category is also part of a series, photo essay, or overall design or best issue, of course.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Bob Franken (574 631 3671, rfranken@nd.edu) or Jess Oxley (jnoxley@bsu.edu).
Thanks, and good luck in the contest.
